The original recipe called for adding the farro and beans at the same time. You could use canned beans, but I think that the texture would not be the same. You need to soak the beans the night before. This soup does not fall under the “fast food” category. I always save my rinds and keep them in the freezer in a zip-loc bag to add to soups and stews. The final adaptation I made was the addition of a rind of Parmesan cheese to the simmering soup. Plus, spicy food makes my nose run, so I figured that the soup would work to cleanse my sinuses. While spicy heat is not a typical addition to the classic recipe, my tastebuds were so dulled by my cold that I wanted the soup to really pack a punch of flavour. I also slipped in a big pinch of red pepper flakes. I added a heaping tablespoon of tomato paste to the sauteed onions and celery, to really deepen the flavour of this soup. I used Mark Bittman’s New York Times recipe as my starting point and adapted slightly from there. This is my take on the classic Tuscan soup, Minestra di Faro Lucchese. Hot enough to soothe my sore throat and packed with lots of starchy things to make me feel full. I couldn’t seem to eat enough to make me feel satisfied. I figured this would be the perfect way to lose my December cookie weight. Normally, when I’m sick, I lose my appetite, so I sort of got excited about being sick at the beginning of January. He caught it first, passed it on to my husband, and now I am “it”, sneezing and coughing my way through January. Sadly, he was playing tag with a wicked cold. My husband declared a moratorium on game playing with me after that.īut, on a visit to see us in December, my youngest son started a game of tag, and it’s still going on. Unfortunately, it was the other team’s question. I got so excited that I knew the answer, I shouted it out. The category was sports and leisure and it was a baseball question, the only sport I know anything about. We were on the same team for a friendly game of Trivial Pursuit. The one and only time I ever played a board game with my husband was early on in our relationship. We’re not really a big game-playing family. Click here to print recipe for Green Goddess Chilled Soup. A squeeze of lemon and a splash of sherry vinegar add a hit of acidic freshness. For the liquid, I used Greek yogurt, thinned with a bit of water. I used basil, mint, Italian parsley and dill. The soup will not taste fishy, but it adds a wonderful rich and deep flavour note. Cucumber is fairly bland, so it needs help from lots of herbs, a touch of garlic and a secret flavour bomb of an ingredient, anchovy paste. I decided to play with the flavours of Green Goddess dressing and added an avocado to the mix for added richness. This soup was inspired by Melissa Clark’s Chilled Cucumber Soup over at NYT Cooking. For now, some fresh herbs and cucumber ribbons look really fancy. As the summer progresses you can garnish it with sweet corn niblets and diced vine ripened tomatoes. I love it because everything is buzzed in the blender and it keeps in the fridge for 2 days. This chilled Green Goddess Soup is going on the summer rotation. This works until my husband and I are sick of eating it. The guests change and don’t realize it was served last weekend. That way, when the weekend rolls around I just have to thaw, assemble and grill.Įach summer I try to find a few new dishes that are big on flavour, look pretty and are able to be made in advance. I spend a day in the kitchen during the week doing meal prep, washing and chopping vegetables, making salad dressings and dips and baking some cookies or squares and stashing them in the freezer. My friends and family are very skilled in the kitchen so it’s really nice to spend the afternoon on the hammock and be called to the deck for aperitivo and dinner. All my guests know that when they ask what they can bring, I ask them to be responsible for one meal. We have family and friends almost every weekend.Īlthough I love cooking, I don’t want to spend all my time in the kitchen, so I try to keep things simple. I am fortunate to be able to spend most of the summer on the lake, at our cottage. But come summer, I try to cram in as much socializing as is possible. Sometimes it’s all about JOMO (the Joy Of Missing Out). Don’t feel badly for me, I like it that way. Most of the year I live a fairly hermit-like existence.

Musk's fear that, as his mother puts it, “he might become his father,” is identified early on as a specter and possibly a driver of his success. Musk's father is portrayed in the book as a conspiracy-minded, verbally abusive Jekyll-and-Hyde figure. The news generated by Isaacson's book underscores just how much Musk's legacy remains in flux and the difficulty any biographer faces in assessing it.īut the most fascinating parts are early on, as Isaacson delves into Musk's upbringing, particularly his father. The book has also gained attention for previously undisclosed details about Musk's family life. Isaacson has since posted on X the coverage hadn't been activated over Crimea. Isaacson's book initially reported that Musk secretly told his engineers to turn off coverage within 100 kilometers of the Crimean coast as Ukraine was launching the attack. The book has already made headlines, including Isaacson walking back his initial reporting in the book on Musk not allowing Ukraine to use Starlink internet services to launch a surprise attack on Russian forces in Crimea. In part, Isaacson writes, it was a chance for someone who was beaten up on the playground as a kid to now own “the ultimate playground.” He also offers his own theories on why the billionaire wanted to take over the social media platform. Isaacson provides insight into how badly Musk misjudged his ability to run Twitter and the consequences of his missteps. The Musk biography is a fitting addition to Isaacson's works chronicling the lives of major figures in science and technology, including Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, Jennifer Doudna and Steve Jobs.Īs with those books, Isaacson deftly handles complicated matters like the development of electric vehicles, rockets and artificial intelligence while also deeply exploring Musk's background and family.īy shadowing the billionaire over two years and through interviews with Musk's family and colleagues, Isaacson is also able to show how Musk's risk-taking may work well in designing electric cars and rockets but hasn't fit well with running a social media platform. The Agent is able to move around the facility like the whisper of a ghost’s shadow playing the quiet game, and as long as the. What Isaacson doesn't conclude is whether those characteristics are propelling Musk's success or undoing it. The first critical bit of information about Specter Ops is that there are two sides, completely asymmetrical, with very different sets of information available to them. In the opening pages of the book on Musk's childhood, he's described as someone “not hardwired to have empathy," a characteristic that comes into play throughout his work endeavors and personal life. It's a familiar descriptor for Musk's fans and detractors, but Isaacson's biography still offers plenty of revealing details about the tech mogul. Their capacity to show profundity and different parameters, while in the meantime being projectile evidence and moderately modest, made them incredibly mainstream. The specialty of the original Promasters is that they have a 4-screw case backs and runs on three batteries. The first Promaster proceeded to have a tremendous effect in the game diving watch showcase, with its creative structure and trend-setting innovation and it started an entire group of watches starting their ahead. The Citizen Promaster is a standout amongst the most essential dive watches ever on the grounds that, following 30 years it is still a very present day, significant and shoddy. That said, Garcia is coming in off of a long layoff, too, and there have been more questions than ever, perhaps, about his commitment to the sport. Garcia (21-0, 18 KO) has had much more hype, and his win over Luke Campbell last time out was a win over an opponent seen as a legitimate contender and really good fighter, if not elite. Most of his career has been spent at home in Ghana, and while he has a lot of solid wins, it’s really Tagoe who has never proven himself at the level he’ll be at on Saturday. Tagoe (32-1, 15 KO) has been a fringe contender at 135 for a while now, and hasn’t fought since a majority decision win over Mason Menard in late 2020 on a Matchroom show in Florida. “I respect Garcia’s ability but he’s accepted a challenge against one of the best fighters in the 135 lb division and, let me tell you, it’s a whole different ball game at this level.” “Nobody is expecting me to win this fight but mark my words there is an upset on the cards in San Antonio this weekend,” Tagoe said. The scenario this creates is that Garcia might end up passing this test with flying colors while still not completely proving that he's mentally and physically recovered from the past year.Emmanuel Tagoe is a massive underdog this Saturday against Ryan Garcia - listed at +750 by DraftKings Sportsbook, in fact, with Garcia at =1400 - but the 33-year-old veteran from Ghana believes he can cause another shock in a boxing world that has seen plenty of notable upsets in the last few years. In fact, the wide betting odds seem to suggest it's a lock. A gunslinger at heart with an aggressive new coach behind him, the possibility of Garcia making an emphatic statement against the lesser skilled Tagoe is very much in play. Garcia also may just be wired as such that he'll never quite remove his vulnerabilities from the equation of any fight. For as sublimely skilled as Garcia is offensively with his lightning quick hand speed and combinations, the legitimacy of his chin and defensive instincts on an elite level are still up for debate. While the reveal of Tagoe as a comeback opponent felt a bit disappointing at the time due to his lack of name value, he might just be the perfect style matchup Garcia needs to rebuild his confidence and hush up his critics due to Tagoe's straight-ahead attack. Naoko Fujioka (c) +210, women's flyweight unification Emmanuel Tagoe +900, catchweights (139 pounds) Let's take a closer look at the fight card for Saturday night before making a prediction and pick on the main event. Mosley Jr., meanwhile, has won four of his last five with the lone defeat coming in his most recent outing against Jason Quigley. Rosado has alternated wins and losses for much of his pro career, but Philly native always comes to brawl even if he ends up on the losing side of things. The veteran was moved directly into an opportunity against rising star Jaime Munguia, but he came up short on the scorecards. Rosado shocked the world in 2021 with his knockout of Bektemir Melikuziev. Former top prospect Gabe Rosado is back in a super middleweight contest against the son of a legend in Shane Mosley Jr. The undercard fills out with a pair of interesting bouts fans can get excited about. If he can't, he will be out of there very quick." If he can take a shot, it will be a good fight. Fans should be ready to see me give this fight everything I got. But I can say one thing, my job is to not make his life easy in that ring. "I know he has been saying that facing me will be easy. In 2017, the Nuggets appointed Booth as the assistant GM and then named him the GM in 2020. After one year, he joined the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he climbed the ranks to become the director of player personnel. Booths then started his career in the front office as a scout for the New Orleans Pelicans in 2012. After playing for eight teams in ten years, he called it quits. Throughout his career, the 6'11" Booths struggled for playing time. The Washington Wizards selected him as the 35th overall pick in the 1999 draft. Notably, Booth played in the NBA for ten years before starting his career in the front office. Who is the General Manager of the Denver Nuggets?Ĭalvin Booth is the General Manager of the Nuggets. This process will also take quite a while, depending on how powerful your CPU is. Once the make command starts, the code will start compiling. Now, we do exactly what the bootstrap output tells us to do. Once the bootstrapping process completes, you will see a line that says, "CMake has bootstrapped. So sit back and feel like a hacker as random scrolling text appears on your screen. This may take some time, depending on your CPU horsepower. When the script starts executing, you will see output similar to what is shown in the image below. A bootstrapping script is provided, which helps build CMake locally. Now that the source code is available locally, it is time to build CMake. When the extraction is complete, change the directory to the one created by archive extraction. Once you download the source archive from Github, extract it using the following command: tar xf That means I will avoid using any release version that ends with the -rcX string, where X is a number.Īt the time of writing this, the latest version of CMake is version 3.22.5, so I will be using that as a reference. To build cmake, some dependencies are required. Go to this route only if Step 1: Install dependencies Now, this is a complicated process and it is certainly not everyone's cup of tea. Method 2: Install latest cmake from the source code (not recommended) Wait for a few seconds or minutes for the process to complete and then enjoy it. I would advise removing existing cmake version you installed in APT package format to avoid conflicts: sudo apt remove cmakeĪll you have to do is to use the following command: sudo snap install cmake -version Thanks to the Snap packaging, you can get the latest cmake version straight from the developers. Method 1: Install the latest cmake on Ubuntu using Snap Build from the source code (complicated). How do you get the latest version of cmake? Unless you must use the latest version of cmake for some reasons. Check the installed CMake version: cmake -version However, what you get from the Ubuntu repositories may not be the latest version of CMake. Rosario said he has a doctor’s appointment Thursday. The Braves have not provided any information about the condition or circumstances beyond their initial news release. The office of the eye specialist who performed the procedure did not return calls from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Rosario said the doctors didn’t tell him what caused the swelling. Since pitch counts have been kept (roughly 1990), this was the fewest pitches any batter needed to finish a cycle, breaking the previously known "record" of eight, set in 1998.The circumstances surrounding the eye condition and how it occurred are unclear. Rosario was "first pitch swinging" and finished his cycle after seeing only five pitches, during his four at-bats. On September 19, 2021, Eddie Rosario hit for the cycle against the San Francisco Giants, the ninth cycle in Braves franchise history, and the fifth Puerto Rican born player to complete a cycle joining Ivan de Jesus (1980), Candy Maldonado (1987), Jose Valentin (2000), and Bengie Molina (2010). Now, for the main event, the sneakers! Barkley rocked the Nike Air Max2 CB throughout his post-season campaign and the infant sneaker community instantly noticed the forward’s footwork. The series went seven games with Barkley and Kevin Johnson playing as well as they could, but the Rockets were too much to overcome. Unfortunately, Chuck’s Suns would meet Hakeem’s Rockets, the inevitable champs, in the Semifinals. In the opening round against the Warriors, Charles turned out a career setting performance for Game 3 to the tune of 56 points as his Suns swept the series.
